Weißpriach is one of the 15 municipalities in the district of Tamsweg (Lungau), Salzburg in Austria. Weißpriach is located south of the main ridge of the Schladminger Tauern.
Culture and sights
The church of St. Rupert is one of the oldest churches in the province of Salzburg. The little church in Weißpriach houses magnificent Romanesque frescoes from the 11th and 12th centuries. A carved statue of St. Leonhard holds a chain in his hand, carved from a single piece. It identifies him as the patron saint of cattle and horses.
